Privacy
Loft is a kitesurf jump tracker for Apple Watch and iPhone. Short version: your sessions stay on your devices. No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell data.
What the app records
- Motion from the watch sensors, to detect jumps.
- Location (GPS) during a session, for your track, speed and jump positions.
- Heart rate and workouts through Apple Health, only if you allow it.
This data is stored on your Apple Watch and iPhone and sent directly between them. It is saved to Apple Health only if you allow it. It is not sent to us.
Services the app talks to
- Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com): to show the wind, the app sends the approximate coordinates of your spot. No name, device ID or account is sent.
- Apple Maps: map tiles, and turning coordinates into a city name.
- Leaderboards (optional): if you choose to post your best jump, Apple's iCloud (CloudKit public database) stores your nickname, country, city, best height, airtime and date. Every Loft user can see these. Nothing is posted unless you do it.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Partner links
The trip planner links to partners such as hotels, car hire, kite schools and gear shops. Some links are affiliate links: if you book or buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those sites have their own privacy policies and may use cookies to credit the referral. The app does not share your sessions with them.
Your choices
- Delete a session in the app, or delete the app to remove all local data.
- Turn off Location, Motion or Health access in iOS / watchOS Settings at any time.
- To remove a leaderboard entry, email us with your nickname and we will delete it.
Children
Loft is not directed at children under 13.
